CAR ACCIDENTS CLAIM 3 LIVES IN VIRGINIA

Patel & Dalrymple, PLLC Dec. 14, 2017

Three people have sadly lost their lives in a motor vehicle collision in Virginia. The accident took place along Route 360 and involved three cars. Such car accidents can easily take place if one driver fails to exercise a reasonable amount of caution behind the wheel, which is grounds for civil litigation.

The recent accident occurred at about 3 a.m. Police said a car was going east along the highway but then suddenly breached the road’s center lane. It then struck another car head-on. The impact of this collision then caused a third car to run into the back of the second car.

A 30-year-old woman was driving the first car, and a 28-year-old woman was a passenger in this car. The driver ended up passing away in a medical center, while the passenger died at the collision scene. The passenger in the second car, who was 25 years old, also died upon impact, whereas this car’s driver was injured. The third car’s driver also suffered injuries. Alcohol was reportedly a causal factor in the collision.

The injury victims and the families of the deceased passengers from the first and second cars may choose to file liability claims related to the Virginia accident, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained. Even though the driver of the first car, who allegedly caused the crash, ended up dying, her estate may still be sued. In addition, anyone else who owned the car she was driving at the time of the accident may be named in the lawsuits. Competent proof of negligence is required to establish liability following these types of car accidents.
